Anna Mae V. Diller

Aug. 20, 1948 - Jan. 13, 2009

On January 13th I lost my wife, soulmate, and business partner. We had been married for more than 36 years.

Ann was born in Mechanicsburg, PA just a couple of miles from my home. We went to the same school and grew up together. She worked at Fry Communications in Mechanicsburg, PA for 28 years.

At the age of 53 we decided to leave our comfortable life and seek some new adventures. It was sad to leave our families, our daughter Christie, son-in law Tom, and our only grandson Austin. We were seeking a new challenge and that search ended with the purchase of Happy Hollow Campground in April 2002.

As many of you know, Ann was the "heart" of Happy Hollow. Although it was often tough and demanding, Ann really enjoyed the good times. Her favorite times were spent in the store counting out penny candy or dishing out ice cream for the kids. Ann so loved the children.

Ann also loved the outdoors. She hunted, fished, hiked, and bird watched ever since we married. Ann was a charter member of South Mountain Bass Club and won "Lady Angler of the Year" 2 times. Ann was very active in Pinchot Jaycees Ladies Club and served many offices including president.

I will miss her dearly.
